Sagerer transferred from Leipzig University of Applied Science, and he is happy to come to Point Park. “Point Park had everything that I wanted,” said Sagerer, a defender who will have three years of eligibility beginning with the 2009 season. “I was looking for a school with a civil engineering major, and I also wanted to make sure that I could play soccer.”

“Generally I have to say that I think the idea behind the sport camps is great. They enable you to get in touch with coaches and universities. For a European it would be very difficult to even be noticed when applying to a university otherwise. The Camps really make this first step a lot easier.

About the camp itself: I loved the fact that IDEA also organized activities that had nothing to do with soccer, such as a visit to the Universal Studios or sightseeing in Jacksonville. This way we also got to see some parts of Florida and weren’t merely driven from campus to campus or soccer field to soccer field. I think that’s important because these will be life-long memories.”
